At first, the first nation people were the only people in Canada, and everything was fine. They took care of the land by understanding that this world isn't ours and we are just borrowing it. As a result, they never overused it. These people did that because they thought that the Gods were allowing them to use this land and living on it until God came back to inherit the land once more. For example, when they killed a buffalo, they used all of the buffalo to make something useful. They would use the skin for cloths and its meat for food. This was a really good way to keep the land green.  But when the Europeans came to Canada, they took over the land from the First Nation and gave them a small amount of land to live on. This still goes on today, but would you know that?

Based on these two videos above, "Aboriginal 101" and "Aboriginality", many people don’t know much about the Aboriginals. In the first video, a lady went around town asking people questions about their own knowledge about the Natives. The people in the video didn't know much about the Natives, even though they were the first people who lived on this land we now call Canada. This surprised me because they were the first ones on this land, next to the dinosaurs and cavemen. They were the ones who created something useful from something that we now a days seem useless. Also, many schools across Canada teach some things about the Natives. In high school Canadian World Studies, they would teach the students about the Native’s history. Therefore, many people who are born or that is taught in Canada should know more than that about the Natives!

In the second video, it was an animation about a boy watching TV which I think was about Native dance. I thought this video was hard to understand. Were they talking about the Natives traditional dance? Or were they talking about how this boy is feeling excluded because we live in society where most people don’t know that many things about the Native people?

In conclusion, I learned that many people who may be born and taught here in Canada, but either don’t know or don’t remember much about the Natives. To me this was a major surprise!

Magazines, ads, commercial, and basically everything that has to do with beauty is messed up! I am not trying to be rude to the lovely models out there; but when people are modeling, you're not really showing your true natural beauty in the ads. The only thing that is really shown is how good your hair and makeup look on you. Yet, editors and publisher think that this still isn't enough. For example, the publisher would say “Our model is beautiful, but I don’t like how her neck is so short. One of you people better Photoshop that so it looks perfect!”

This maybe a good strategy to sell more of your products, but many people don’t realize that this is ruining some people’s lives! The media is making people believe that there is a person out there that looks that perfect! Meaning that they could look like that. Some people have devoted their lives trying to look perfect and as beautiful as the people in the magazines.  Some people go as far as getting plastic surgery just to look that good. This is also ruining young people’s lives and minds too, because many young people are being bullied because they don’t look different and like what is portrait in magazines and ads.

In conclusion, the message of this is that many people are thinking that what they see on magazines or ads are real. This maybe a good way to improve profits but based on my thought towards this, I think it just wrong. It effecting the young minds of this generation. It makes them believe that their are real people that look perfect like that so when they see someone that looks different in anyway, they would bully them based on how they are different or ugly.
