Sorry that this may be a
little late, but you can always refer to it next year right? Everyone loves
Christmas! It always will be a special time of year that everyone feels that
they need to give presents to each other. So people run to the stores in hoping
to find a perfect present for their friends and family to give to them on
Christmas day, and of course, hoping to receive something in return. Everyone
around the world does this. But there
are some countries that can’t do that because they don’t even have money to
feed themselves or their families. They would love to receive a present like
anyone else in the world, but is this the real meaning of Christmas? Isn’t the
real meaning of Christmas is to celebrate Jesus’s birthday. Yet, there are
people out there who don’t celebrate Christmas because of that certain reason.
I think everyone in
general celebrates Christmas by getting together with family and friends, by sharing
a meal together, by giving to each other, and by sharing a memory that would
last a life time. Shouldn’t Christmas be like this? Now a day, many people find
Christmas to be the most stressful time of the year because they are always
looking for that perfect present for their love ones. Based on the two videos
in the links above, many people can say that they have everything that they can
desire, but what do you give a person who has everything? The latest toy that
will become useless in a couple of days? The coolest electronic that they don’t
need? To me, the presents are like a bonus at this time of year, because I know
that there are many people out there who really need everything. So, instead of
giving something that would cost a lot of money and become useless, make
something that would be useful and give to those who really need it, like the
people in Afghanistan. Don’t you think that
those people over there also deserve a merry Christmas?
In conclusion,
Christmas now a days seem like the most stressful time of the year, but it
supposed to be a calm and happy time of the year. We make it seem that way
because we always feel like we have to buy the perfect present for our friends
and family. This makes it seems like it a very chaotic thing because many
stores are taking advantage of this time of year and put sales on many of their
items that many people want. So, people think in order to get it they need to
fight for it just like Black Friday. Based on those two videos above, this
isn’t the right way to celebrate.
For
example, my family has a tradition that we have a huge party to celebrate
Christmas. We still exchange gifts to each other. But we only give money to each other because
we can use that money for something better other than something really useless.
Yet, the money doesn’t really matter; what matter is that we come together to
spend time with each other and make memories together as a family and to give
to those who don’t have anything. That
is the true meaning of Christmas. I hope that everyone reading this have had a
Merry Christmas and will have a Happy New Year!

Careful, Terra! Not everyone celebrates Christmas. So be mindful of citing Afganistan as a country where "everyone" would celebrate this holiday. This is primarily an Islamic country.
