Social with your media?

Sad as it might
seem, everyone is doing this. I am no exception. When I first got my Twitter, I would sometimes use the 140 character limit to vent out my
anger on people indirectly. By doing this, it released some of the anger that I
had inside of me. Now looking back on what I have tweeted, it was wrong.
Thankfully enough, I don’t do this anymore and I found a new way to express my
anger. I recognized that this was only the first step of becoming a cyber
bully. Cyber bullying is a serious issue that most people in our society have learned about
and maybe have to deal with.
Cyber bullying
is a form of bullying online by using social media platforms. By doing this
online, the person who is getting bullied may never know who is doing this to
them. One of the main sites to use is Twitter. By using Twitter, anyone can
directly message or tag them in a post to that certain person and message or
tweet all the things they need to say to that person, unless it is set for
private settings. This is a horrible thing to do. Writing a tweet saying rude
and disrespectful things can hurt the other person's feelings. Even if it is
just personal opinions and views of that certain person.
With all the
warnings at school, students should know that cyber bullying is no joke. Yet,
this might not only be only students doing this. There are grown adults who do
the same thing. It can physically and/or mentally break someone. This is why I
think that this is an issue that many of us have to face. Yet, it isn’t something
that we should have a law against. This shouldn't be a law because some of the
tweets are just personal opinions that have gone too far.
I believe that
more and more people need to realize what they are doing with their personal
opinions. They should realize how hurtful they are to that person and even to
the people around him or her. Everyone
has the right to express their own personal opinions. There will always be some people who love you
and some will hate you. Yet, just because you hate someone, it doesn't mean
that you should make them feel bad about themselves.
They are just as human as you are and all humans have feelings. So, when posting something about someone else that you do not personally like, take a moment and think. Think about what you are writing and if you would say that in person and face the consequences. If you can do that, then I guess you can say that online as well. But with that knowledge, you still don’t know what that person may or may not be going through. Don’t be that person who brings everyone down to make themselves feel better.

I so agree with your blog content and opinion about using social media to cyberbully others. Cyber bullying has been increased in numerous social media networks. Some people feel that they need to tear someone down by writing and posting mean and horrible stuff about them online. They feel that they do not need to tell the person in front of their face. They think that it will not affect them since the screen that they are behind will protect them. Cyberbullying is a big problem that is occurring in our world today. We should all work together to stop and end the cyberbullying in our generation.
